I sell tickets that each have a service charge say $15.00 ticket with $1.50 s/c. In BV2004 I have always used product choices so that when the ticket was purchased it added $16.50 to their cart as one item.
How could I do this so that it was 2 seperate items, the ticket charge and the s/c so that when I import the sale into Quickbooks it records it as 2 seperate items....right now it is just one line item.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Derek

Hi Derek,

The biggest problem that you will have will this is that by adding the item to the cart as a seperate item, a customer could easily delete the service charge from the shopping cart.

I am not 100% sure how the kitting feature of SP4 will work however, it may allow you to accomplish the functionality you need. As SP4 is in private beta right now, I really don't know whether BVC5 treats the kit as 1 part number for importing or as individual parts for the quickbooks import.

If when SP4 is released it does not provide the functionality you need, we have a product accessories module that will essentially do what you need. The only problem will go back to the issue of the customer being able to remove the service charge from the cart after it has been added. This could be handled via a customization of the product accessories that we already have.

Derek,
Can't you apply that as shipping or handling charges?

Couldn't you set it up as a product Choice or Modifier and just set it up as required and have it pre-selected.

Thanks for the responses guys....

I have tried it as a product choice/modifier and it does in fact add it but it appers the same thing happens that it alters the original product to include the s/c and then records in QB as 1 item.

Hi Corneliu, I could try it as a shipping charge but I am afraid that this might confuse folks as they are non-shipping products showing a shipping charge.

Thanks,

d.

Derek,

It sounds like you need each shopping cart to start out with a non-deletable item already in it. Doesn't sound too hard - unless EACH ticket purchased needs the s/c to be billed at $1.50.

Do you want one s/c per ticket purchased, or one s/c per order/invoice?

Hi Mitch,

It is a s/c per ticket and the s/c varies depending on which ticket it is...

Thanks,

d.

Derek, I still think calculating that as shipping or handling is the easiest way. Maybe just rename your handling to "service charge" to make it easy for the customer.
