Let's say I have product 1234. What url do I use to link directly to that product from an email. Or even a category.
Thanks,
Barb

Barb,
Just go to that product or category in your store and copy the URL that is in your browser's address line to paste in your email code. If you are using URL rewriting, you could know that in advance. |

Alternatively install my BV Quick Link plugin: http://www.acorns.com.au/projects/bv/quicklink/You get a nice sys-tray application that you can click, search for a product by name and with a single click you can get copied in your clipboard (ready for a paste in the email): - Direct Link to your product - Link + Short Description - Nice, customizable signature with the link to the product + short description. This will save you loads of time :) Regards, Corneliu. |

Barb, For each product or category you can change the name of that URL, so that rather than having a URL of something like: www.yourstore.com/Produc...ock---20oz__FENIX20.aspxSince this is a ceramic crock, you could change it to: www.yourstore.com/ceramiccrock.aspxNot only is it easier to remember, but the search engines will move your listing up in the rankings for having a URL that matches the search term and product name. Just look in each product's General Options page for the "Rewrite Url To:" box |
