What is the best way to rewrite URLS for products or cats that do not exist anymore? I have google that indexed a product, but it has since been deleted. I don't know what to put in my httpd.ini for this...

ie: i have a EKG special that offers free ekg carts with select ekgs. So i create a subcat and list all my ekgs that belong to this special... nice graphic and everything. But this promo expires on june 30th. Google indexed it. Now that it expired, what do I do with the link? The offer doesnt exist anymore... do I rewrite it temporary (302) or permanently (301)? What should i rewrite it to.. my main ekg page?
