I was wondering if anyone encountered an issue when authorize.net credit card processing times out. I have tested exactly same code on at least 3 machines and I am only encountering this issue on our production server with has Windows 2003 64 Bit but with exactly same setup as our testing machines. I even went to an extent to write a small windows application that sends data to authorize.net to make sure that it is not a firewall issue.
So I was wondering whether the payment assemblies were specifically compiled for a 32 bit processor.
I have eliminated any firewall issues, checked service url's and settings. Any suggestions would me greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I know you say you eliminated any FW issues, but there is a good chance that is still the issue. What FW are you running? |

I have installed plain Windows 2003 64 bit on a local machine and believe it or not I am encountering the same issue. So it makes me wonder why 64 bit is not supported or was tested properly? Since the source code for the payment processor is not included, there is no way to even fix it.

We have had a few timeout issues with PsiGate in Canada and a couple with LinkPoint in the US. They crop up every now and then. PsiGate sent us an email a couple times letting us know they were having time out issues. Perhaps it's a universal processor problem <shrug>.
Or BV may be running slow during the payment processing part contributing to the problem. Kind of hard to tell. In any event on the Declines with PsiGate we get declined Time Out error so I know to go in and check it in the CC processor. Usually the CC has been charged.

Very unlikely. We have installed Win 2003 32 bit and it works just fine. I tested them side by side and 64 bit version times out.

We have many 64Bit installations that work fine with Authorize.net.
This goes beyond forum "fixes", it is a whole setup process.
Is IIS and ASP.NET running in 32bit or 64bit mode? |

Yuri,
We had this same exact issue a few months ago.
We have narrowed it down to this DLL not being compatible with 64bit mode operating systems.
nsoftware.IBizPayWeb.dll
I do not exactly recall what we did to fix, but I believe we started running IIS in 32bit mode and it solved the problem. |

FYI....
New BV5.3 Install on a 64bit Win2008 server required running the IIS7 process for the site in 32bit mode to communicate with AuthorizeNet.
We were experiencing the 'timeout issue' |

Thanks people, I had the same problem and turning the IIS 7 in 32 bit solved it.
Thanks, Vaibhav
