We are seeing huge hourly bandwidth on the webservices3.asmx file. The statistics show that the site has an hourly bandwidth of 2- 3 GB, which is 1.2TB a month. 95-97% of the bandwidth shows on the webservices3.asmx file. The bandwidth is fairly consistent hour to hour.

Obviously, this is a huge problem. Something is not right if the statistics are correct. The site has about 7800 items.

What could be wrong? Please help!!! Thanks!

My Shipper system uses webservices3.asmx, though it is all local (never leaves the server), so it should not show up on your bandwidth.

Where are the requests coming from?

I don't know. How can you tell? I see the shipper requests separately.

The server logs may include the requester's IP address. If the requestor's address is the same as the server's address, then at least that does not eliminate Shipper. To know for sure, try stopping Shipper for a while. If the number of requests to webservices3.asmx drops to 0, then it is Shipper.

Thanks Andy - you solved our mystery. Shipper was the "bandwidth" problem. Once we set the pull from checking every minute to checking every 15 minutes, the bandwidth statistics dropped dramatically. As you told us, this is not true bandwidth, more file server data flow. There really is no need to have it check every minute. We had no idea what affect that would have. We highly recommend your Shipper software. It works great and definitely makes the whole shipping process integrated with UPS a lot easier.
