I can't get the [[User.Username]] or [[User.Password]] to work with any of the email templates. I'm concerned because now that im starting to get more orders, more people are complainging that their username (email address) and password doesnt show up on their order so they dont know how to log in.
I know it seems like common sense because THEY are the ones that created it...

I use [[Order.Username]] but, I have never tried [[User.Password]] before. Wouldn't that be unsafe to provide that information on each order anyway? They could simply use the forgot password link if they don't remember their password. |

When they use the forgot password, it sends the customer a new password through the email. Whats the difference?

Control. I print invoices when I place on-line orders. I'd prefer that my password didn't show up on paper. |

Control. I print invoices when I place on-line orders. I'd prefer that my password didn't show up on paper. Who said it had to be on an invoice? I can create a seperate email template that would be an "account reminder" with your username and password. Then, I can edit the workflow for new orders and send out an email for an invoice, then send out another email for the "account reminder", reminding the customer that they created a username or password. I get this all the time when i shop online. I get multiple emails when I place an order. One as an invoice, and one with my account info. Like I said, as a designer and developer I think its pretty easy to hit the "forgot password" button, but i also have to look at the real world. The real world is asking me for an email with usernames and passwords. Going to my original post, why doesnt the User.Username and User.Password not work in the templates?

Ok to answer your question. The reason its not accessible is because I don't think there is any code in the workflow process when processing the order to include the User credentials. What I would suggest is look through the Workflow and make a change to the source to include the ones your looking for. |

Hmmm... I understand i may have to change the workflow if i wanted to send out an email during the order process, what about hypothetically 5 days after the order was created? It still wont allow me to send out an email template with anything User.xxxxx.
