I'm wondering if there is a way to detect, during checkout, what card type is used (credit or debit card).
If credit card is used, I would like to be able to add a fee to the total amount.
How may I accomplish this? Any 3rd party plug-in? Or any documentation that I can use as guide to develop a plug-in or make programming changes? Thank you.

This is definately not allowed by the terms of service agreement you have with the processors and the major card companies. Don't do it. You may instead offer a discount for cash or check. I don't think BVC can do this ootb however. |

If BVC can't do discount/addition by payment method, is there a way (programmatically) to change this behavior? Would you please let me know where I can find documentation to alter BVC? We do have .NET programming background. Thanks for you help.

Yes. It is programmatically possible to add fees for different payment methods. I have done something similar to that on a different site. |
