It would seem that the number of responses is an answer to your question :)

Based on the number of bugs reported with the kitting, the fact that BV has not adressed those bugs in 2 months (partially because they have been on vacation for 2 weeks), and the proximity of that release to the Holidays, it wouldn't surprise me if nobody was using it yet. After all, who wante to chance it by using an unreliable release?

I agree with you though, it would be nice to see it actually work (minus the bugs of course.)

Mark,

We have yet to find a single reported "bug" in the kitting system that was not "as designed" or an issue with a specific customer's upgrade process having problems. If you know of a specific bug that you can duplicate reliably from a fresh install of the latest 5.4 version I will be happy to duplicate and provide fixes.

I know of at least one customer who has gone live with the kitting feature and is very happy. Other customers will probably wait until after the holiday season to perform upgrades and try out new features. I always recommend trying out service packs and upgrades on a development site first because every store is different and may have been customized.

So just to confirm, editing an order that contains a kit, thus causing the order data to be lost is not a "bug" but rather was "as designed?"

We have not confirmed that bug yet. Still investigating.
