I currently have 1700+ users that purchase from my web site. I have created a selection of items that will make great stocking stuffers and gifts. I want to send an email to my customers and hope they will go to my site and buy something. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to handle this. I have 1700 email address, names etc. Should I just import them into Outlook and do it from there, or is there a better way? I want to show the home page with the specials and when they click on the pic of the home page in the email, it will link to my site. What do you do?

Is there no way to send a mass email to all of your registered users right from BV?

For a few hundred, yes. There is a mailing list function in BV but it is not capable of list serving thousands of messages.

One time we used it to send around 1,200 emails, but there was a very specific reason for this. Normally I would never recommend doing this. In addition to the scale problems that Noah mentioned, you don't want to risk your recipients flagging your domain as sending SPAM. Using a third-party mailing solution insulates you from this.

I have used the Xigla application for a few years now and it works great and no monthly/annual fees. You can import customers into it, have a sign up page on your site, and I haven't had many problems with being marked as spam since it does send out from your domain. I had that problem with third party solutions (such as Constant Contact) as some ISPs has CC and others already flagged, and certain customers couldn't get the emails.
