Marcus - D-ROD is my developer and posted the problem as a result of my experience with the issue on our site. We are on 5.3. Must we upgrade to go to 5.4 to get the fix or do you have plans to fix 5.3? Thank you

Although I haven't tested it I see no reason why the hot fix wouldn't work on 5.3 as well. Make a backup of your existing files and give it a try.
