When a user clicks on checkout the program freezes.


My web host said the following "[2]in regards to BV and shared SSL and it looks like it has a history of finicky behavior when a shared ssl certificate is involved. Apparently there was a hotfix released at some point which addressed some of shared ssl issues so you should verify with BV support if the build you're using has this fix implemented already or if there is something you'll need to do special."[/2]



Can anyone help me solve this problem?



The best I can tell, I have BV version 5.4

Frank,

First is your host a BV partner? If not, I suggest you finding one. You have the latest build -- sounds like your host is trying to throw their problem back at you or BV

Secondly, for the low cost of a dedicated SSL, it is well worth it -- there are a lot of shoppers out there who will not shop at a site that does not remain on the same URL during checkout -- I'm one of them -- I will avoid, even at the cost of a higher price, a site that does not want to spend what amounts to pennies a day for a dedicated SSL. Surveys I've done of my customers indicate there is a fairly good portion of folks like that out there.
