Thx Andy. $400 is a little bit out of our price range. Is there any other way of retrieving rates for Canada? |

The CP API is freely available, and their certification process is pretty straightforward. Perhaps you can implement a custom solution for less. |

We have a customer who has been attempting to place an order via paypal without any success.
When presented with the screen to confirm his order he is given the error shipping method must be selected and his only option is "To Be Determined. Contact Store for Details". Paypal shows no record of the transaction so I assume he will have to submit the payment from the paypal site versus using the checkout button.
His mailing address is in Canada and we are based in the United states. Do we have to implement the Canada Post plug-in in order to calculate shipping rates for our Canadian customers?
Thanks for any help. |

In fact, you must have an office in Canada to get an account. You might find some error details in the Event Log that will help you determine the root cause of the problem. |

Have you installed SP 5.4 yet? I think the Parcel Post problems shipping to Canada have been fixed in 5.4. We're going to be updating our sites in the near future.

No, we have not installed 5.4. Does anybody know if there is a manual hotfix or some workaround to get this working. Upgrading always poses the risk of breaking other things so I'd like to avoid that if possible.

I never saw a hotfix that fixed the USPS international rates. Service Pack 4 was the first time it appeared.
Upgrading does pose a risk of breaking other things. So you should definitely invest in a staging site. Then you can install the upgrade and test everything before you push the updates to your live site. |
