ERROR => 'Msrp/Cost/Price must be a currency value' when updating Product

I'm evaluating BVCommerce 5.4 for a couple of clients, and I ran into the following problem.
Whenever I try to update an existing product in option Catalog/Products, I ALWAYS get the following four errors reported in bright red at the top of the page: - Msrp must be a currency value - Cost must be a currency value - Price must be a currency value - Extra Ship Fee must be a numeric value
Checking field MSRP, it's content shows: € 1,00, just like the other reported fields. The "reversed e" is the currency symbol for the Euro. As I'm in Europe, I obviously need the local currency sign. If I manually delete the € symbol from the four input fields, the update functions as expected.
I configured Win2K3 Server for Dutch language and Dutch location, as it should be. In BVCommerce 5.4, I selected in Option / Languages setting "Netherlands ? 1,23". Note the "?". This should be the € currency sign. Hmmmmm... I tried all sort of settings, but always seem to run into this error.
How can I resolve this?

What version of the .net framework do you have on the server? The fields for prices use the Microsoft currency parser and pass in the culture value you've configured for your store. It is possible that an older version of the .net framework is using a non-euro currency for the Dutch locale.
