Every time I use the import tool, about 20% of the items I import have quote marks around the Title, Long Description, Short Description, Keywords, Meta Keywords and both medium and small image captions. Any help with this? Thankfully whenever it does this all the items with the quotation marks are at the beginning of the catalogue so I know which ones did it.
Thanks,
Steve

This can happen when you import from Excel and it changes the column type to long text because you exceed 255 characters. I think the latest import tool has a "Strip Quotes" checkbox.

I struggled with this one for MONTHS and could not find an answer until Brendon at BV told me what was going on.
Excel does add miscellaneous "" all over the place and this is what I now to do get around it.
Do NOT save as a text file from excel, it simple will not work. Even if you save it. Then open it in WordPad and Find and Replace all "" with ", you still end up with " at the beginning and ending of each long description field.
Here is what I do:
Export your products to excel. Make your changes. Copy all, and paste into your text editor program. Save as txt file and them import.
Hope this helps!
