Hello,
I'm attempting to locate the database that serves BVCommerce (ver 5.4). Any help in locating this would be greatly appreciated.

It's a SQL Server database, so the file does not reside with your Web files. Generally it will be in a sub-folder of your SQL Server installation. Typically that location is: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2005. The actual databases usually live in this folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2005\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data. Note that these folders may vary slightly depending on your installation. |

If you are hosting somewhere, ask your host because you will not have access to the database files folder. If you are hosting it yourself, then right click on your SQL Server database, go to properties -> Click on the Files section and you will see the Name and Path of your database files on the right hand side. You might have to scroll a little bit. Go to the path mentioned and retrieve the files. But why would you need the database files? if you want a backup, you really need to take a backup of your database. |
