When I create a Kit and choose a category and save, it does not show up under that category. If I go into the Admin side and to the category>edit screen and go to the product selection section and click on the select button the product is listed there and added to the category but it still does not show in the category on the front side.

What am I doing wrong??

I'll assume you know you need to make the product 'active'.....

Yeah Mitch its active. I can view it by clicking the view in store button on the kit edit page. It will show up if I add it to our home page in column 2 product grid section named Featured Products, but no where else.

You might check this link out and let me know if it comes up for you.

What about inventory? If you added "out of stock" components to a kit the will also be out of stock and may not display.

First time seeing a kit in use, nicely done you and Marcus. I like the price flipping to "included...". I see the breadcrumbs, but I can't find this except to paste the link unless I'm just getting lost - jeeez, you got a lot of stuff....

As an aside, check the shipping on this order... $68.33 UPS... really?

Just cause I tried to break it.... This shouldn't be allowed to happen.

I un-selected everything on the page. I shouldn't have a cart then, right?

The kit should come up on this search, but doesn't.

Yeah I know. It should come up but its not...I haven't figured the why not out yet. As far as shipping its a work in progress so weights have to be adjusted. Inventories are active and sufficient to fill the order. Works great on my local copy....Live is where the visibility starts get messed up. There is not much documentation so it trial and error...LOL

As far as the search it should come up but it doesn't. If you enter the sku which is BLOOM00001 it will come up or bloom floral elegance it comes up but it doesn't show in the Bloom FLoral Elegance Category.

I'm sure its something thats not set right on my end, just haven't found it yet.

Ok I give up, it must be a bug or something. I cannot get it to show in the Category page it is assigned to.

It is checked to be active, all parts are active and have inventory.

Anybody have any Ideas.

Try making a dynamic category and see if that grabs it, perhaps $100 to $300.

Have you changed SingleProductDisplay (IIRC) in such a way that it won't find/display a kit product on the cat page?

Try a different cat page template. List, grid w/subs, bulk, etc.

Make a far simpler kit at it's most basic format and see if that shows up. Or, strip stuff off of this one until it shows in it's category....

Do you have a limit somewhere that controls the number of products in this category? Perhaps it's the one that's over the limit and just isn't allowed to play with the others on the screen.

If I search for the SKU, it comes up. If I add any price parameters, it doesn't. Search isn't working on this kit.

Mitch I have tried just about all of those suggestions nothing would show. The only place I could get it to show up was on the home page under the featured products area which is a product grid. Nither the Grid or Grid with Subs templates will show it, haven't checked the others.

Tried a very basic kit, SKU > Description > couple of items, nothing showed.

has to be a bug somewhere.

Sounds familiar. I reported this 2 months ago, and the response was that it must be an issue with my database. In the end I hired a developer to fix BV's code. I'm happy that someone else is reporting this too, maybe then BV will actually do something about it.

Richard,

Do you have all of the hot fixes installed? Including the one that updates the "InventoryAvailableAndActive" function in SQL. There was a bug in that function that we fixed in a hot fix.

Richard,

Can you list the EXACT steps to duplicate on your store.

i.e.

1) Create a new product (not kit) with inventory of 99 available, out of stock point 0, inventory mode "Keep on store (allow Orders)"

2) Create a kit with one kit part (drop down list)

3) Add the product you created to the kit as the only drop down list selection.

4) save the kit and assign it to a category (manual category)

Expected: The product is in stock so the kit should display
Actual: The kit doesn't show up in the category

Ok what I have created is this

I created a kit by checking the active box
enter sku number BLOOM00001
enter name Bloom Floral 4 Place Tableware Setting
enter description with no html because that throws an error BLA BLA BLA

Add new Component with everything selected
Bloom Floral Tableware 4 Place Setting - Sale Price $252.54 (Checkboxes) Edit Delete Up Down
Bloom Floral DINNER PLATE - 4 Plates - $81.00 Qty: 4
Bloom Floral DESSERT PLATE - 4 Plates - 2 Styles - $63.90 Qty: 2
Bloom Floral SALAD/SOUP BOWL - 4 Bowls - $50.22 Qty: 4
Bloom Floral MUG - 4 Mugs - $57.42 Qty: 4

Add new Parts
Accessory Items For Your Bloom Tableware (Checkboxes) Edit Delete Up Down
Bloom Floral APPETIZER DISH w/ Pick Holder - $18.95
Bloom Floral COVERED TRINKET BOX Wax-Filled - $8.95
Bloom Floral OVAL PLATE & BOWL Set Chip & Dip Appetizers - $28.50
Bloom Floral PITCHER VASE Small 20oz - $14.95
Bloom Floral SECTION SERVER 3 Serving Bowl - $29.95
Bloom Floral SERVING BOWL Centerpiece Display - $49.95
Bloom Floral SERVING BOWL SET 3 Nested Bowls - $37.95

Add my images and hit the update button
go to the top right and click on the category link and select the category that I want scroll to the bottom and click save. Posts back to the kit page in admin and click save changes. Go to the category on the front side but no kit. Go back to Admin > Categories > edit the category I put it in and go to the select product section and click on the add products button and sure enough the kit is showing in the list of products under the category.

You can go here to see the Kit http://www.somethingmore...Setting__BLOOM00001.aspx

You can also search for the kit by typing BLOOM00001 in the seach box. I can add in to the product grid on the home page in column 2 and it will show up there, but not in a Category using any Category Template.

You can check the availablity of all of the items in the kit by going here and clicking on the product. The available inventories are shown on the detail page. http://www.somethingmore...oom-Floral-Elegance.aspx

I have created a kit using just one part of an item that we have an inventory level of 20, active and available for sale and it still doesn't show up in any of the available cateogry templates.

Any help is appreciated

Richard

I would have to say it must be something with your setup or setting's. I was able to get the kitting working just fine for a client of ours. We did not design the site but assisted the developer setting up the catalog.

http://www.ipswichbaysoap.com/D...s/Hand-Crafted-Soap.aspx

So OOTB the kitting should be working fine.
