I have a site that's still running version 5.0.0.947 that I need to upgrade.

What's the simplest way to upgrade to the latest SP? Do I have to upgrade to each individual SP, or is there a way to a cumulative upgrade?

Thanks!

Cripes! After hitting the Submit button, I realized that this should've been posted to the "BV Commerce 5 Tools and Downloads" forum.

Can somebody move it for me, or should I create a new posting?

So you have 5.0 and not 5.1 correct? I think the 5.4 installer should work correctly for you. If not, let me know and I'll send you individual patches.

Yes, it's 5.0x

This particular site is hosted at Applied, and I've just asked their tech support if they'll provide the upgrade for us (hoping that this is something theyd do as a "preferred hosting solutions provider"), but they won't.

So, I need to figure out the logistics of doing this at a shared hosting service. Is this what we'll need to do?

<OL>
* FTP site files from shared host to local computer

* "Close" the live store

* Obtain a backup of SQL db

* Set up the site on localhost (both files &amp; database)

* Run the 5.4 installer locally, choosing the "Upgrade 5.x Store" option

* FTP files from local computer back to shared host

* Make a backup of the local SQL db, and then upload to shared host

* On shared host, perform a restore of the SQL db using the just-uploaded backup

* "open" site again on the live store
</OL>

Yes, the steps you outlined look good to me.

FYI that the 5.0 to 5.0.1 upgrade didn't work.
I received errors during the DB upgrade step of the 5.0.1 patch. Please see this posting: http://forums.bvcommerce.com/default.aspx?f=84&amp;m=61790 for details.
