I think this in relation to what has also been fixed in Hotfixes B & C.

I have an item with two types of variations, size and color. The item is set to Display in Store when out of stock but do not allow backorders. On the Product Display page, when the default displayed choice for both variants is out of stock the whole item displays as out of stock (meaning I get the "Item is out of Stock" message displayed). When I change a drop down to an in stock combination the message is still there.

I can change this behavior by adjusting the default choice for one variation to something that is not out of stock. I can replicate again by changing the default choices back to the out of stock items.

It would be nice to have this message display only when the selected variation is actually out of stock.
