Manual Process of Credit Card - No payment gateway

Just wondering if it was possible to collect credit card information but manually process the payments?
The client would like to process the online payments themselves in their physical store, so an online payment processing module is not required.
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, this is possible using the manual payment gateway in BV. However, this is generally discouraged due to the greater potential for fraud. Also, I do not believe that you will be PCI compliant if you do this...I think. |

The PCI compliance rules are slightly vague on this. What they actually say is that the information can't be "stored for longer than is necessary to process the transaction." However, they also say that you're never supposed to display the full card number "unless it it to authorized personnel who require the card numbers to process transactions."
So, the actual rules could be interpreted a number of ways. Right now, almost every software vendor has gone to "hide card numbers always" and "never store CVV" data as the easiest way to be PCI compliant. If you display the card number or store CVV you'll have to fight for compliance and prove it is necessary.
