Is there a preference or ideal location to insert the code snippet into each page? Or is there a BV 5 app to accomplish this task for me.

Thanks,
Marcus

BV Commerce 5.5 and later include Google Analytics controls already. Just go to Options->Analytics in the admin and enter your information.

We can add this functionality to your BV 5.3.2 site quite easily. Feel free to contact us via phone or email if you need any assistance.

You can insert the Analytics code into your header or footer control for the theme you are using. Scott Mech of Mech Innovations does a nice job inserting code to cover for not only Google, but shop engines as well.

I've ticked the option to use Google Tracking and I've entered my Tracking # however I don't seen any references to Google Analytics on any of my pages. I've read plenty of threads where folks talk about updating each .master page, however I would like to utilize this built-in functionality if possible - just not sure why it isn't working.

I'm using the Sports Shop theme - would have anything do with why this isn't working?

An alternative to modifying your master pages would be to add a new HTML content block to your various shopping cart page content columns under the admin area Content -> Columns. As a test to verify that JavaScript does work, try add this as your HTML content block:

<script type="text/javascript">
alert("hello");
</script>

(if the Google Analytics component doesn't work for you and you don't want to do master pages)

Although the newest Google Analytics asynchronous tracking suggests that you place the tracking code right before the closing </head> tag, you can get away with putting it anywhere in the page body.
