I am running 5.6 and processing through PayPal's Website Payments Pro. My PayPal account accepts both US and Canadian currencies. I am finding however that regardless of what I set in the options->languages for the currency of the store, all transactions are sent to the US$ account.

Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks,

Derek

I seem to recall a thread about this in the past, and I thought that it had something to do with how PayPal's software functioned (i.e. it only worked with USD). Don't quote me, though...

According to PayPal's latest SDK docs our software is supposed to always send USD even if the paypal account is configured for other currencies.

Thanks Marcus,

I am not sure why would be since what they boast as the benefit of using them is the ability to accept payment in 18 major currencies.
I will get in touch with them to ask the question.

Thanks,

Derek

I have accepted orders from PayPal users in other countries and PayPal automatically converted the Euros into dollars.

Derek,

According to PayPal's docs even though we send USD, they use whatever currency your account is set to and then convert if the sender uses another one.

Hi Marcus,

I just spoke with PayPal's tech suppot and they said that values are not required to be sent in US$ but rather they should be sent in whatever currency the store is in (up to 18 major currencies accepted)

So, according to them if I accept (using three different stores) US$, CN$ and Eur, the values should be passed in US$, CN$ and Eur and deposited to each of their respective PayPal accounts.

If the store is in Eur and the order is $20.00 Eur it should process $20.00 Eur to the Eur account as opposed to some conversion that will not reflect properly on the customers credit card statement.

Is it possible to confirm this?

Thanks,
Derek
