I just wanted to put a plug in for Scott Mech (Mech Innovations) for the "in-page" shipping estimate he just created for our Shopping Cart page. I always hated the pop-up shipping estimator -- it threw errors when customers had a large number of products in the cart because of the way BV calculates package size for Fedex shipments. The estimator also did not include the customer's state code, and some shipping providers (FedEx Express for example) will not return rates without a state code. http://www.birdsafestore.com/cart.aspx -- of course you need to add something to the cart to check it out -- but it is slick! |

Very cool. We've been talking about building something like that. My favorite thing about it is that when you select a method it computers your order total with tax, etc in the cart. |

Ribbon Guy, how would you ensure that ratings were fair and accurate for such a system?

A user rating and rebutal system like ebay or some of the free lance rent-a-coder type sites mite work. Perhaps there is not enough traffic to gather an adequate data sample to be of value.
