I have multiple ticketing sites strictly for the purpose of being able to charge in different currencies. The reason being that we do ticket sales on behalf of a promoter or band and ultimately when the event is over we have to send payment [The funds collected less our fee] to the promoter. If I'm doing an event in the US I need to be able to charge in US dollars, have it deposit to my US account, and then have the ability to send US dollars to the promoter. Similarly, if I'm doing event in Canada I need to be able to charge in Canadian dollars, have it deposited to my Canadian merchant account, and be able to send the promoter Canadian dollars. If I were to charge US dollars through my Canadian site and have it deposited to my Canadian account a considerable amount of exchange is lost to then convert it back into US dollars to pay the promoter... so ideally it has to stay in the same currency.

I'd like to get a quote on what it would cost to customize BVC 5.6 so that the checkout process could reference a "currency field" within the product set up so that it will know what payment processor to use. Since I don't presently use the manufacturers function I thought that may be able to be configured so that a currency could be defined for each product. Then when checking out that particular product the system would reference which currency it needs to be billed in and then select from the available processors.

there would never really be an instance where someone would be buying a ticket for a concert in Canada and the US at the same time so there shouldn't be a problem with having to decide which currency to use. I'm presently doing sales and Canada, the US and in Europe so my three primary currencies are the Canadian dollar, US dollar and euro.

Thanks,
Derek
