I'm experiencing a weird problem with the pager links on my search results pages. The links are looking for the subsequent pages on localhost rather than the domain or IP. (for example - http://localhost/search.aspx?page=2). As a result, no pages are being found. Is there a setting I'm overlooking that should be changed?

Shelly,

Did you set the Site Standard Root and Site Secure Root URL's on the Security Settings option page (/BVAdmin/Configuration/Security.aspx)?

Hi Aaron,

We're starting with a fresh install of BV 5.6 to eliminate any of the bugs in the previous customization project. The Security.aspx should have been the default, but I've uploaded a fresh copy just in case. Right now we are running everything off the IP address (209.235.192.87), as we have not switched over the domain. I had done some modifications to a few files to throw the search criteria into a left column, but uploaded to default files again when I realized the problem.

I was having that exact problem with the pager & searching, it was solved by specifying the URL's at the admin section Aaron suggests.

If you have admin access to your machine (and it's not the same server hosting the live version of the site) you can modify the hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) to simulate the switch over. Open that file up in notepad and add "209.235.192.87 mysimulateddomain.com" and "209.235.192.87 www.mysimulateddomain.com" to the end of the file, each on its own line.

Once you do that trick the machine with the modified hosts file is effectively tricked into thinking the test server is the real server. After testing remember to remove those lines (or comment them out with a #).

Otherwise, you just need to add http://209.235.192.87/ to the Site Standard root box and remember to switch it over after testing/before the site goes live.

Ok, that was it! I needed to change the settings under security in the options tab of the administration. The default is localhost, and I switched it to the IP address.

Thanks!
