I'm in the process of an upgrade from BV 2004 to the current version. Our test environment in the new version has been populated with sample data, I'm finalizing the new theme, and tweaking the settings of the BVC5 test server. All the product data has been ported over.

I've got over 100 products that are configured as downloadable. I copied the download files from the /files directory to the /files directory on the test server. However: I keep getting "File to download can not be found." message when I purchase a downloadable product or when I am in the file downloads configuration screen for a product.

Did I copy the download files to the wrong subdirectory? Please don't tell me I need to re-attach all these files to each product through the interface. That would be a nightmare.

TIA
Aaron

Do the files show up in the admin when you edit a product? If so it might just be a permissions problem with the /files folder.

They do show up in the admin area when I edit a product. I am able to browse the file folder, and I am able to add any file in there to the product. However, once I go through checkout and try to download the file, I'm getting "file Not Found".

So you are saying the bvprocess might not have access to the /files folder?

Are you able to upload a new file into the admin or delete a file? If not, that would indicate a permissions problem.

I can upload a file through the interface successfully and this file will download at checkout.

However - any of the files copied over from the BVC 2004 server are still giving me this error. The products were migrated from BVC 2004 and show on the file downloads page as being attached to the product.

My guess is the file path in the database has an extra dot or slash or something that is confusing the "File.Open" method. Try comparing the path of the download that works to one that does not in the database.
