I sent suggestions along to BV for improvements to kitting. At this point, without the line items appearing in the adminstrative reciepts, we've stuck to the "multi-add to cart" feature. So no real world use of the kitting feature for now. Without the items appearing in the receipt, the warehouse staff's margin for error is greatly increased. Doesn't quantify the kits to be prepackaged and sit on the shelf either.
As a result, I created "kits" through a more manual process. The links add 3 individual skus to the cart (1 with qty of 2). All sales, discounts, pricing levels would correctly apply since the items are in the DB as unique items.
the link is setup like this:
http://www.storeURL.com/cart.aspx?multi=PP-ST819:1;PP-ST9911:2;PP-ST9930:1attached is visual of what we setup for presentation. We also like this approach because the customer can adjust individual qty's of the items if desired.
While it's not a solution for the OOTB kits, this method works for us. In time, we'll give the kits another go.
HA!! I just noticed that I've added 2 of the wrong item to the kit link....lol... don't tell my client, it never happened :)
