Trying to install BVC5.6 on Windows 7.
this is my first install on IIS7x, and I'm trying to follow the instructions that say to locate the web.iis7.config file, located in the /src/www folder. However, I don't see it there. I looked both in the folder I installed to, as well as the original source files, but don't see it in either location.
Is there someplace else I should be looking?

If you have a web.iis6.config file then your current web.config file is the iis7 version already.

Thanks!
Does that mean that the setup program autodetects the OS it's running on and creates the correct web.config for it?

Newer service packs assume IIS7 and so that is the default config file.

Is it absolutely required for the config files to be 'renamed' or can I just leave them the way the are and KNOW that the config file is referring to the iis7?

the file names "web.config" will be used automatically. If the file has any other name, IIS will not use it automatically.
