does the affid=xxxxxx have to be appended to a link coming from the affiliate in order to have commission and themes tracked?

I know you input the affiliates website URL and didn't know if that alone was enough to trigger the interaction.....

Thanks,
Derek

Yes. You can link to any page on the site with that query string, not just the 'affiliate URL' that the admin shows.

Thanks Aaron,

Is there anyway to limit the amount of time the cookie is set for the affiliate theme? I have setup one artist that I will be doing a lot of events as an affiliate (zero commission) so that when folks like over from their site to buy tickets it uses their theme and displays their banner in the header. The problem is that any other show that "the same customer" goes to view will continue to display this artists theme as opposed to our main theme.

....anyway around this?

Thanks,
Derek

You can set the referral time for each affiliate.

Thanks Aaron,

I have set the referral time to 1 day but it seems to persist even after that. Also, and more importantly, it keeps coming back to that affiliate theme when going to the main site (no affiliate link) even after clearing cache and all cookies....weird!

Thanks,
Derek

Derek, I cleared my cookies after the test I did on affiliate and add to cart. Results were positive and themes were gone. Not sure which browser you were using. Perhaps closing browser and reopening may help.
