I'm posting this in the hope that it may save another merchant the financial loss that we experienced.

In August of 2009, we hired Satya Vani Kodi of Extend BV/Bayquel to assist us in the data migration from our existing exported csv files to our new BV site. We originally contacted Satya because of our interest in the loyalty points plug-in. Although we had the bulk of the product data already added, Satya stressed that that data was most likely problematic and that we should allow him to do a fresh import. He quoted us a price of $35.00 per hour for the work. The hours worked were to be logged in his project tracker, which we could view.

Once we had an agreement, he began to log hours for a few days and indicated he was actively working on the project. After 3 days, no more hours appeared until the 2 week point when hours were added retroactively and we were email an invoice for the 2 weeks. The invoice billed the hours at $50.00. When pointing out to Satya that the billed rate was not the rate he had quoted previously several times, he adjusted the invoice and we paid the $1,277.50 fee through PayPal on August 18th. At that time he indicated the product import was completed and he was working on the customer import. He assured me he could address the order history import also and estimated the whole project was about 50% complete.

After that initial payment, we contacted Satya periodically as seemed appropriate to inquire on the status of the project. No additional hours were logged in the tracker. We informed him of our deadlines and he made several promised completion dates. We made several attempts to convince him to turn over the work he had already completed, but received nothing. In January of 2010, we completed the database portion of the website ourselves, and began requests for a refund. He responded that he would refund our money as we had not received anything usable from him. We contact him every few weeks to remind him of his promise to refund our money, but as of April 9th, 2010, we have no response and no refund.

I will leave this up for a couple of days to let Satya respond if he wants.

Did you ever get him to respond to your emails or to issue a refund? I'm curious because he has been paid in full for our site and does not respond to emails, nor does he call us back when we leave messages for him.
