Anyone have a live chat service they like (or dislike)? I'm looking for some firsthand experience. Thanks! |

Have used a couple here. http://www.zopim.com/ - Mixed results. Worked OK as a chat but stats were not that great. Was not able to see all users on the site. http://www.sightmax.com/ - Worked great. Lots of power here but also quite a bit of overhead. I used the installed application version on a dedicated server. Could follow users browser sessions around with no problem and stats were great. |

It's really surprising to me what these hosted solutions cost. From what I'm seeing, you're typically looking at a starting point of $50/month per user. Live Person charges $100/month. Right now I'd say the two that interest me the most are Bold Chat and SightMax OnDemand.
Anyone else have any experience with live chat solutions? |

Yeah they are expensive. One reason we went with the installed version with the one site. Of course you need the resources for that as well. Let us know what you end up with and how it is working out after some time. Some people like chat and others try it and eventually say it's a pain. |

Sightmax is used by two clients.
One uses it primarily for co-browsing to watch traffic as well as be able to guide users when on the phone, doesn't want chat due to the past integration of it and the severe time waste it introduced... over the phone trumps live chat. Everybody wants to chat. Tread softly in my opinion, specially on a high traffic site.
One uses both for chat and co-browse. Fits the industry I guess. Have had issues with the page-push feature in some browsers. (yet to figure it out!) but not a deal breaker as it happened only a few times and it was a mobile device.
Both installed on dedi's for resource allocation.
Modifying was a full day of tinkering, stylesheet friendly, few personal changes to HTML markup. |

I've been using Xigla, which you purchase and add to your SQL database, but I'm in the process of switching to ProvideSupport.com -- good features for a good price. |
