ApplicationPool crashes when applying Buy One Get One promotion code

Hi Guys,
I have an ApplicationPool crashing each time when I apply a Buy One Get One promotional code on the cart page. If product quantity more that 1, it works perfect, but when I try to apply a promo code to a single item in the cart it crashes.
Here is what the error log says:

This also happens when I remove one of two items from the cart, so that single product left in the cart
Any ideas how to fix it?

Hi Aaron, thanks for your reply.
It's Buy One Get One offer that discounts item by 100% if purchasing specified items. I think I figured this out. In my case "Add items to cart automatically" checkbox was ticked, that caused a loop on add to cart action. The crash stopped when this checkbox was unticked. Not sure if this is a bug in the system or just our local version issue. We are using BV Commerce 5.4 rev 5.
