I'm seeing this pop up on various sites.
Let's say I have a product with 5 choices.
Base Product = $89
Choice 1 = No Change
Choice 2 = No Change
Choice 3 = + $11
Choice 4 = + $14
Choice 5 = + $20
The price on categories (thumb w/ name & price) and the product page is displayed:
From $89 - $109 |

If this could be an option on a category or product-by-product basis, it would be great. |

Let's assume for a moment that you have a product with 2 choices, size and length.
In BVC 2004 you specified the individual +/- amounts for each option of size and length.
In BV Commerce 5 you specify a price for a specific combination of size and length.
Small Regular = $19.00 Small Long = $21.00 Large Regular = $20.00 Large Long = $21.00
When the customer hasn't made any selections yet should the "Large" option of size show +$1.00 or +$2.00? It depends on the second choice of length?
How would you handle this situation?

Marcus,
Matt is talking about displaying the price range on the category page, so at that point the prices of individual choices shouldn't matter. What you need is the max and min pricing, so $19-21 in your example. I'm guessing that this would be a fairly heavy this to calculate on the fly for every product on a category page, so it may need to be cached. |

Aaron,
Price range display is perfectly doable. We calculate this for kits and can do it for variants. However, Matt is also asking for individual choices to display +/- amounts and that is not necessarily a simple task.

Not necessarily, but in the competitor's that I bookmark I tend to see the +/- in addition to the price range. I'll cruise them a bit and test out how they're handling it on the customer side. Personally... I hate choices but it's a necessary evil. If it's worth anything, I always suggest to my clients that they never use the (-) on a choice, always have the lowest price as the starter. (This helps capture a Price Sniper's click...hint..hint...) |

just curious, off topic, but simular, why did we remove the prices from being displayed in the dropdown menu from 2004 to BVC5?

Because 2004 only allowed +/- price adjustments for choices. BV5 allows specific prices per variant.
With 2004, if you had +5 for XL size you couldn't do +4 for XL Black combo and +5 for XL White combo.
Because prices can vary and require all choices to be selected before a price can be determined, there is no price next to size XL only.

what about for modifiers because modifiers act the same as in 2004?
