Shipping Rate Rule Providers for BVC5 - invalid license file

I have installed and been using the Shipping Rate Rule Providers from Structured Solutions with a trial license, and it has worked quite well. However, after purchasing the product and attempting to install the permanent license file, it no longer works. I see "(no valid license found)" in the admin. We followed the directions, which were to copy the new license file provided to the bin directory of the site.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Andy, are you available for help?

You may need to delete the AutoTrialLicense.lic file in the root of your site. |

Hi Andy,
The latest solution still did not correct the issue. Is there any chance you're available to help troubleshoot this afternoon? We've added the new license in both the root directory of the web site and in the bin directory.

You recycle the application pool? That or edit your web.config (add a couple returns to bottom and save) to restart app pool if on shared host. |

I think it is a mismatch between the version of Shipping Rate Rule Providers and the Integrated Pipeline mode in IIS7. With the Integrated Pipeline, the Request object is not available during the Application.Start event which is when all the assemblies are loaded, which is when the (older) Shipping Rate Rule Providers licensing code is kicked off, which looks in the Request object to see which domain it is running on, but the Request object is missing, so...fail.
One solution is to change the Pipeline mode from Integrated to Classic.
Another is to upgrade Shipping Rate Rule Providers to the latest version (2.9.5), but that also requires upgrading BV to 5.7. |
