We have a website. The Website has thousands of products. We want 10's of thousands.
At the moment, we're delegating staff to add and update the products. It's taking us several months to upload and update are site, which isn't good enough.
I have tried the export tool, however it error's when doing so.
Is there any API we could use to develop are own solution? Is there any other tool that can help us?
It would be nice to get shed some light on this problem.
Thanks for your time,
Nathan.

Nathan, The import/export tool for BVC 5.X was always buggy. You can certainly develop your own import tool using either the application classes or web services. BV Commerce 2013 includes a new, web-based import/export tool that you access within the admin. You can test it out on the demo store at http://demo.bvcommerce.com. Click the "Sign In" link in the upper-right corner and log in (the username and password will auto-populate). Click the "Go To Admin" link in the lower-right corner. In the admin click the Catalog tab. Now click the Import/Export button in the upper-right corner of the content area. From here you can import a file and also export products based on a number of criteria. If you browse around the admin you'll find the Import/Export button in many places (products, categories, custom pages, custom URLs, redirects, manufacturers, vendors, and affiliates). You can also export users and orders. We're offering introductory pricing of $495 on the 2013 upgrade until the end of this month (October) through the purchase of a BV.NEXT plan. After that you will need to purchase a new license for $995. |

A good reference for insert/update/delete code is to look at how the admin pages work. |
