I have run into some stumbling blocks with trying to get BV to work on a recent project.

To recap the way theming in BV works, you basically have two choices:
1. Use an existing BV theme which contains the functions and layout you desire and then modify the images and style sheet as necessary to make it uniquely yours.

2. Be a .Net programmer and create a theme from scratch or based on an existing theme.

That being said, as we know, BV does not currently offer a responsive theme for their software. The built in functions and controls are all pre-formatted for their layout. Unfortunately, this causes issues when trying to implement them into a responsive design where we need to have control over the layout. In order to accomplish this, I may need to contract a BV/.Net programmer to create new controls and modify the page programming as needed. We released beta 1 to partners three months ago. The feedback from them has been great and production sites have already been built on it. In other words, it's very solid. Keep in mind that this is a new version of BV Commerce, not just a theme. Making a fully-responsive theme while still retaining backwards compatibility for merchants that just wanted to upgrade their software required some fairly significant changes. Anyway, you should see an announcement very soon.
