I am currently moving a bvc 5.0 installation to a windows 2008 server. I want to ensure everything is working correctly before upgrading the solution to a more recent version of BV. However I have been unable to get the default installation working.
The error which I keep getting is Invalid access to memory location. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800703E6). The rest of the stack track does not help in identifying the problem.
I have checked that the App pool is configured as .Net v 2.0 classic pipeline and have even tried running the app pool as a Network server account with no luck.
Has anyone else encountered this error?

Ok I have resolved the issue. The site has some extra plugins which were using the DeployLX Licensing dll. Removing this DLL from the sites bin directory corrected the issue.
I will leave the above post as it may help someone else in the future.

It might be that you need to enable 32-bit application support on the app pool. |

I put the dll back and tried that but unfortunately it didn’t make any difference. :-(
