Just wondering why the default authentication mode in the web.config is set to Windows when BV uses a custom authentication mode. Should this be set to None?

Probably. I believe the Windows authentication is the default, or at least was the default back in the ASP.NET 2.0 days, which is probably why it's the way that it is.

Just switched it to None and everything is still working. Nice little performance gain when running a tracing test :-)
