Access BVC directly from another VS project

Due to the shipping method issues we're seeing with the WSDL generated classes, I'd like to request the shipping methods directly from BVC instead of the web service (as Ryan suggested during our call with TeenyB).
I couldn't find any answers on the forum pertaining to this. Is there a guide to setting up my VS project to reference BVC?
Can I add references to a specific list of DLLs or do I need to download and compile BVC on my dev machine? If so, what are those DLLs?

Given that your application resides on the same website as BVC it makes more sense to remove your IIS 'application' and instead use the main BVC/website application in IIS. At that point there is nothing to reference and you can just include the BVC namespace(s) that you want. |

Thanks, Aaron. Doing that would require an update to the app which isn't an issue. The problem is getting the existing user base to update.
Is there a way to do this while using the existing setup?

Why would this change require an update to the app? |

The app is currently looking at a location outside of the BVC project for the current web service. I guess I could create a passthrough there if I needed to.
I'd prefer to keep them separate if possible.

I'm not really sure what you mean. Can you clarify?
