Well, I wanted to do a clean install of BVC2015 on a new blank host. I started with the install of BV Commerce 2015.1.1.1059 SP1 using a temporary domain. I figured it would be easier to develop the new site, import products, get it all functioning, then pull the trigger. Currently I am running BVCommerce 2013. So, I load a temporary product and here's what's happening: http://cleatuscupsnew.co...st-Product__Test123.aspxAll hell broke loose and I don't even know where to begin. Looks like I have double navigation bar, no product description, the product reviews aren't loading, and some other unknown error on down the page. Anyone else having this problem? Should I just stick with BVC2013? I was really wanting the upgraded version to include the mobile portion, but...

Hi, John When loading the page, I encountered the double navigation bar, however after pressing refresh (F5) all the errors appear to have been resolved? Have you updated the site since your post? Also you might want to make your test site as a closed store and change the closed page. I would make these changes encase google finds the url and starts indexing the site. This will reduce the risk of duplicate content and SEO penalties etc. once you have your live site running on your none temporary domain. As for sticking with 2013, personally I would encourage you to move to 2015, there are bug fixes but there also may other benefits such as SSL throughout and responsive mobile themes, both will help with your search rankings. Thanks for the help, but I haven't updated the site since the errors. I've used Safari and Google Chrome and still see the errors. Double nav bars, no product description, no product review, and another unknown content error down the page. How did you get them to resolve?

Ah I may have clicked on a link as those double navbars only appear in the test products? It looks like these products are in more than one category? Where all other products are in a single category which do not seem to have the issue.
Could you try removing the Test products form one of their categories, and see if the situation is resolved? If so then you will have to look into the category template you are using.

This appears to be a browser issue. Works fine in IE on a windows machine. Not good on Chrome using a windows machine. Try it yourself on this product: http://cleatuscupsnew.co...ler-USCG__BC02-CG01.aspx

There are a few things happening here. Let's start with the second page displaying inside your main page. I've seen that before, but I don't recall the root cause. It's happening because of a server error (the page that's rendering inside your page is the error page). You should be able to see the actual error in the Audit Log. Alternately you could disable custom errors (set <customErrors mode="Off">) in your Web.config file which should cause the error to display rather than the custom error page. |

Here's what the audit log is displaying:
System error
The DefaultButton of 'ProductControlsPanel' must be the ID of a control of type IButtonControl.

I have a BVC2013 store currently running on the same server with no problems, www.cleatuscups.com. Are we sure this is the problem? This will be a problem for me if it is, trying to convince Appliedi to move me to another server.

We've only ever seen this problem once before and changing servers resolved it. We know that 2013 works on Windows Server 2003 as we had tested it prior to release. The 2015 releases were never tested for Windows Server 2003 compatibility; Windows Server 2008 R2 or above has been the recommended requirement. |

There's really no reason that you should be running Windows Server 2003. Microsoft ended support for it almost a year ago (and I believe that date was extended from what they had originally said). |

Ok. Thanks for the update. Good thing I didn't try to upgrade my current BVC2013 site or it would've been a waste of efforts. Will BVC2013 work on the newer server or is it only 2003?

Ok, I've reached out to Appliedi.net about moving it. Let's see what happens.

Moving to the new server corrected the errors. Thanks everyone for the feedback.
