I currently upload 3 different product image sizes for various situations (product details 500x500px, product page 340x340px, shopping cart thumb 130x130px.) I see on the BVC2017 test size there also are various image sizes. Is there a reason to not use the "Force Image Sizes" feature in the site settings instead of creating multiple sizes by hand? I'm trying to decide what I might want to do with my images when I update to 2017.

When that setting is enabled it causes image tags (<img>) to be output with "height" and "width" attributes matching the image sizes set in the admin. It's no longer valid to use those attributes (and definitely doesn't work with responsive design). Sizes should be defined in the CSS Originally Posted by: TKatch I'm trying to decide what I might want to do with my images when I update to 2017. The design (or redesign) of your site determines what image sizes you'll need. You can certainly look at the 2017 demo store is an example, but you would not need to match those. |
