I downloaded all SQL Server Management Objects from main Site Manager window, clicked on Create New Store and I got this error

unhandled exception has occured in your application. if you click continue, the app will ignore this error and attempt to continue. if you click quit, he qpp will close immediately.

an error occurred creating the form. see exception.innerexception for details. the error is: unknown error (0x80005000)

I also did the 'Add Web Sites' in IIS manager, but I'm not sure if it's correct.

I also get an error on the site. The site is www.xurfboard.com.

Can anyone please help with the installation? Thanks.

Does BV have other support staffs other than Marcus?
I am a new customer, just purchased the software on Friday, and it seems impossible to get any help with installation.
Can any BVC5 experts help? Thanks.

Your host should be able to get it going pretty quickly. Where is it hosted? If this is local for your development they should be able to help you out with that as well.

It is kind of tough to troubleshoot when all you have is the generic .NET error. If you posted the specific errors, it would probably narrow it down a little more.

I have hosting with godaddy.
I finally got it installed, uploaded files & license to ftp. When I clicked on the green hammers to open admin login page it gives me this error. See

Unfortunately that is just the generic error so it doesn't really explain what the problem is. Also it is unfortunate that it is with godaddy because they don't provide application level support.

I know we could have you up and running here in short order, but I don't know how you would handle it at godaddy.

I'd take Noah up on his offer! www.resposio.com

If you're serious about ecommerce, I'd use a serious web host :)

You'll be up before you know it. They'll design and build your store as well if you're looking for the full boat.

I don't know about the other cart you purchased, but I can name a dozen that will work fine here that won't work on the "McDonalds" hosts. It isn't just ecommerce either, forums, blogs, image viewers etc.

It has to do with how their servers deal with the load and how sites are configured. They have hundreds of thousands of sites to keep running and their goal (at $10.00/mo. it isn't a goal but a necessity!) is to get the max out of every server. So things like unique app pools, unique permissions (that can't be done in a control panel) etc. are not supported.

DAT,

Noah is as serious and helpful as they come. While building your site, you'll run into a dozen 'Noah will know what to do' questions when it is host related, and many that aren't. Also, he's the go-to guy for SEO.

Hello Dat,
We have three sites at www.resposio.com.
I am a long time client of resposio.com and would not consider
any other company.
Superb customer service, answers to questions, great design capabilities
and superb up time.
Noah and Brendon know BV backwards.

Thanks for everyone's recommendations.

I have no problem with switching to a better hosting provider, but my hosting plan shows that it has adequate requirements to run this software ASP.Net 2.0/3.0/3.5
IIS Version: IIS 6.0, etc . I would just like to see how it performs before I make the switch.

I followed site manger installation & manual installation but I keep getting the same error.

Can someone tell me step by step of what I should do in iis & sql, etc? I have widows vista with sql server installed, iis 7 with iis 6 features enabled.

It is day 6 after I purchased the software now and I am still stuck :(
Thanks for all your help.
