Required Fields for Shared Choices in an Admin NEW ORDER

OK, I give up - I cannot make the "new Order" functionality the same as that for my customers - this Sucks!
I simply want to be able to have a required shared choice - which of course works just fine if you are in the store, but the moment you are in Admin all the rules are out the window for the variants.
Please please can someone help before I jump out of the window.
I really don't think its an unreasonable request of my clients to require some data on an order and to STILL require it even when a new order is being placed by someone with Admin access.
Anyone been here and survived!???

I don't use the back end for entering orders, I use the store to be sure I see what the shopper sees (saw). That said, be sure to have 3.2 running. There have been some quirks that might have been corrected, like the ability to edit shipping and admin discounts.
Just wondering, are the choices not showing up? ...."out the window"???? What are you not getting on the screen that you think you should. |

Hi
The boxes are there but when I set a shared choice to a required status I expect it to actually require information to be put into it.
There is vital information about the order that I need to store, not least the name of the person ordering it for personalisation. Its letting my back end staff miss adding this data and causing delays on orders that should not be able to be accepted by the system without the REQUIRED data.
Maybe Shared choice is the wrong way of doing this, but on the customers screen when you get shared choice boxes that are required you have to enter something in them or you get an error - I just expect the same validation for new orders placed within the admin area - that's all!
Am I being unreasonable?

Am I being unreasonable? No, you are not being unreasonable. Report it as a bug ( there is a bugs forum) and then look for workarounds. Mitch's suggestion to use the front-end seems reasonable. |
