I'd like to add a customer's phone number to the 'View Order' page. I've had several instances where I need to call a customer if there's an issue with a product that they ordered, etc.

I don't mind going into the source code, as I suspect the change may require this. I definitely appreciate any assistance you can lend me in accomplishing this. Thanks.

It's in Options > Addresses. check the 'show' and 'required' boxes. I think that's all there is to it.

MitchA -- Thanks, I actually found and made this exact change a week ago, but orders made after this change was made
still omit the phone number. Even with the 'Required?' checkbox checked, can customers omit this info if they pay through
Paypal? My store currently accepts only Paypal.

That's why I was hoping for another way to force the phone number to appear. Thanks again for your help.

I made same kind of mistake before!
You need to check required and show, so that when customer making order will show the phone field to fill in.
If you only pick required and didn't pick show then it wouldn't show up this field for customer to fill in!

I checked both the 'Show' and 'Required' boxes, but I think it wasn't showing on orders even after that because customers were clicking the gold Paypal button, rather than the gray checkout button. As a result, they were bypassing the screen where they'd enter all their home/phone info.

To work around this, as my store only supports Paypal, I've removed the gold Paypal button from the cart page. Customers now have to click the gray checkout button, which requires a phone number before they submit. They can still pay through Paypal by clicking the Paypal radio button found on this [checkout] page.

Finally, since I prefer all customers to create an account before they place their order, I require user login before checking out by adding that setting to the General > Workflows area. I think I'm set -- thanks to everyone who offered their knowledge :)
