How to create a Members Club package that when you buy it, you get sent a special coupon?

I am planning on adding a Preferred Members Club to my site that people will be able to purchase for $29.95. With this I want them to get a T-shirt, a LED key Light and also be automatically sent the PMC coupon code of the month.
This coupon applies to different products every month and give them up to 30% off for being a PMC member.
Any idea on how to do this best?
Should I use a downloadable product? If so, how do I do this?

Anyone have an idea on this?
Is there any way I could use something similar to the Gift Certificate "auto generate" feature for this? It would be great it I could auto generate a coupon code. :-D

Unfortunately there is no way to achieve this kind of automation out of the box. Honestly I think you're best bet, at least initially, is to manually add the email addresses of these customers to a special mailing list. Then you can send a monthly email with a coupon code to those people. Granted, you would have to use a single coupon code for all customers, so there are a few potential issues with that. Beyond that, I think you would need to do some custom development. |

As Aaron said, this does require custom programming and is not something that BV offers OOTB. |

Not quite an idea on how to do it, but rather an idea on the concept.
Keyword: Marketing Funnel. Which some argue is dead.
Objective: $29.95 Membership
1. Free LED Light Key Coupon Code on first purchase, must sign up for mailing list to qualify. Opt-in Confirmation Email sends coupon code.
2. Next round, email sent with 5% OFF Next order of $25 or more coupon code
3. Next round, email sent to customers that use code, Free Tshirt with your next order of $50 or more code
4. Email Sent to Customer that use code, $29.95 Exclusive Membership Offer
5. Emails sent to Members with exclusive codes
Accomplishments: Created awareness, covered the loss of free items, gained loyalty in repeat purchasing, created desire to be exclusive, seperated the wheat from the chaff (Member sign ups) so emails are better targeted
You should also consider a survey during the membership signup to find out what they're interested in to further the seperation of targeted emails. Members A receive email containing items they're interested in, Members B receive email containing items they're interested in, etc. |

Matt-
Love the ideas! Is there a way to automatically send the emails to "Customers that used the code" or would that have to be done manually?

Wondering how we can display marketing offers on the product category page. IE if a product has 25% off or a buy one get one free, I'd like to be able to display it on the page that shows a list of products.
Ideas?

You're going to need to use a few tools to accomplish what I'm suggesting. A mailing list provider (with opt-in responses), a good accounting package and/or the OOTB reports that give you the metrics of your customers purchasing history. |
