I need to setup a group of customers for wholesale on a site. These customers will have special bulk discount offers others should not get.

How can this be done?

See If this works for you:
Set up Groups Here:
Admin>Groups (ie:Wholesale)
Set Up Pricing Here:
Admin>People>Price Groups (Set prices for the Groups from drop down)

I use price groups, but there is no provision for discounts for minimum quantities, restrictions to or from certain products/categories, shipping restrictions, terms at checkout, bulk discounts, % off volume discounts OOTB.

You can however set up a private store or limited access categories. Ask some of the 'partners' on BVC's website and ask them for help with this.

Squeaker,
See if this helps.
I use minimum order quantities this way:
Product 100 1/ea Price $1.25/ea
Product 100A 20/each price $1.00/ea
1)Clone Product 100 to 100A and set the price to where you
want it to be. Also in product 100A in the advanced section
at the bottom set the minimum to 20.
2)Use the Groups and Groups pricing as in an early post.
The key is the unique identifier that sets apart the minimum order quantities.

We have this particular site tied to a MAS500 accounting system, so I can't be playing with the products like that.

We ended up developing a plug-in that allows the user to select a price group that the discount is restricted to. I think it will work out well. As we get it implemented I can let you know how it goes.

Squeaker - We are a MAS 200 site, and I'd be interested in hearing how things work out for you as well. We'd like to be able to offer various discounts on our bulk products, but haven't yet figured out the best way to make this happen. Thanks in advance for any information you are willing to share.

Hey, just a quick note to let you know we were able to get this done. I am finalizing testing with it now, but will provide info on how to get it soon.
