Is is possible to display search results in two different windows on a page by category?

I have 2 distinct product lines and when a "search" is performed I'd like results to come up so that one category results (say "books') are displayed on the right side of the search results page and the other category results (say "videos") are displayed on the left side of the search results page? Possible? Easy? I have attached a basic mocked up page that gives an example of displaying results from 3 categories. What you are trying to do is categorize the search results (possibly based on Categories?). Its possible but not something thats offered out of the box at this time. You can achieve this with a little bit of custom programming. |

That's very helpful. Any estimate on the number of hours a very basic search result with just 2 categories would take? Even a "wide" estimate? Trying to size cost in relation to need...
