I would like to use my BVC5 store to present different pricing to customers if I have set them up as a wholesale customer. In this case, I would also like 2 rules to apply to their orders (minimum quantities of each product in basket, minimum total items on the order). How much of this is possible out of box?

You can setup wholesale customers out-of-the-box, but you cannot apply minimum order quantities or minimum order amounts to wholesale customers. This would require customization. |

Hi Aaron,
I see that there is a "Wholesale Customers" group out of the box, but I'm not clear on where I specify pricing levels specific to that group. When I edit the group, it seems I have a choice of permissions to assign, but all I really want to do is present different pricing to these customers when they visit the site based on product. Am I missing something?

The naming is a little confusing. "Groups" are used to set permissions. "Price Groups" (on the same menu) are used to set pricing levels.
You already found how to create a Group (or can just use the Wholesale Group) for permissions.
To create a Price Group, go to Admin, then select the People tab, then Price Groups from the sub menu.
To use Groups and Price Groups, select the People tab, then Users from the sub menu. Create a new user and assign them to the Wholesale Customers Group and whatever Price Group you created above. |

Thanks Andy. It looks like price groups is really what I am looking for. It doesn't look configurable on a product basis. For example, I only want some of the products in my store to be available for wholesale, but not all of them. Would this require a customization, or is there another way to go about doing this? |

I think (did not look) that you can create a (permanent) sale based on Group. See Marketing. |
