We have had a number of complaints about our shipping estimator not functioning, and for the most part, we chalked it up to user error. However, my developer discovered today, that the problems is maybe not with the user, but with the user's browser. Customer's using IE 8 with the Compatibility View turned off receive our standard site error page after clicking the 'Get Rates' button.
We are on BV 5.3 and are not in upgrade mode at this time, but I do wonder if more current versions of BV experience the same issue. Also, does anyone on version 5.3 know of a fix other than educating customer's that our site is slightly out-of-date?

Just to update everyone, the fix that Andy referenced above solved our problem with the Shipping Estimator. Thanks again Andy for the timely and most helpful reply.
