<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: black; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">I was trying to find migration tool to move from BVC 2004 to the new BV 5 but I can’t find it. I have developer (all source code) version. Can anyone please point me where to look? Also, do I need to make any software updates for the BV 5, like SQL or something else? Thank you in advance. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Hello Michael, There is a data migration tool here, http://www.bvsoftware.com/Forums/default.aspx?f=84 (top entry). There is no migration tool for the code, themes or custom SQL. BVC5 and BVC2004 are separate products. You will need to evaluate each customization you made in BVC2004 to determine if it is already in BVC5 or not. If it is not in BVC5 then you will need to decide whether to reimplement the feature. |

Hello Michael.
Create a new site using the BV Commerce 5 Site Manager. It does not have to be in the same location.
Once you create the new site and you have successfully logged into the admin, run the migration tool. Next, just enter in the information the tool needs to connect to your current store and your new BV Commerce 5 store. |

Hi Nick, I'm also in the process of migrating from BVC 2004 to BVC 5. I managed to setup my new BVC 5 and login as admin both in BVC 2004 and BVC 5. I entered all the required information to connect both the BVC 2004 and BVC 5. However, I encountered error "request failed with Http status 404:Not found." when the tool tried to login to BVC 2004 store. You may refer to my attachment for the migration setting window. Please enlightened me for any solution such as any configuration file in my website folder need to be amended. Thx Regards, Ronny File Attachment(s): migration_setting.bmp (814kb) downloaded 190 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

The username for the BVC2004 store should be an email address.
Also make sure each store admin account you are using is also assigned to the "web services" group. |

When you go to the user edit page, what are the roles listed? |
