Hello Joe,
I remember you from the SF forum, Your questions always helped alot. Did you ever get an answer on this one? I am just in the beginning of migrating to BVC5 and I ran across the same issue. |

Right now the tool pulls in addresses for orders but does not pull in customer's address books. This is something that we have on our list of things to do but honestly, the address table structure in SF takes some time to understand.

Thanks Marcus,
The tool for SF to BVC5 doesn't have an option to import orders does it? I would certainly like that! I see that you are populating or running a script to create the XML tags for the Users Address information, correct? Do you have code I could possibly modify to re-write back into the Address Columns using my existing SF Address table? |

If anyone would like a simple C# example to at least pre-populate the Bill to and Ship to labels in the User table let me know. |

This tool works really good. Some tips I might forward for anyone about to try it.
Images Uploads: You will have to uplaod your product images manually via FTP when done.
Here is the rub I put myself in: SF6.8 has products images in (1) image folder. BVC5 baits you in with a "Products" folder Inside the Image Folder
I had this grand idea to organize my product images to this " Products" folder So, I FTP'd my SF6 images here
The BVC5 Import tool automatically stores the original image file extension from SF6 ie. images/Bigwidget32.aspx So, if you upload your product image directly into the BVC5 Image folder, all of your product images will be visible as soon as you go to the BVC5 Product Edit.
If you go my route, you'll have to correct the image file extension manually in product edit. ie. images/products/Bigwidget32.aspx
Think about before you jump. It sounds like a nice way to organize the files, but will take much longer to edit file extensions on all 2K plus product images.
Categories: You may as well NOT create ANY Categories in the new BVC5 Admin. The product Tool will Automatocally keep that all organzied for you on import, It will even keep you upsell products in line.

Keep an eye on things -- reference importing your categories. I found that importing SF categories caused conflict errors with products with the same "ID number" when either that product or category used URL rewriting -- I had to redo all my categories in BV5 and reassign products to them. |
